So, you just completed our New Client Get To Know You Form and you totally can’t wait for your first appointment and curly haircut. There are a few things you need to know now, ahead of time, to make sure you – and your curls – get the most out of your appointment.
You’re coming to us to learn how to improve your curl styling skills. In order to receive the most from your Custom Curly Haircut and Curl Success Lesson, please follow these instructions. Team Kindred Curl must see your hair in its best light to give you the best results possible, so here’s how to prepare, and arrive:
Two weeks before your curly haircut
We request you stop the use of excessive oils, butters, silicone, or other heavy products (your Shea Moisture, Eco Styler, Carol’s Daughter, etc) two weeks prior to your appointment.
Why? Because heavy usage of such products will impede the outcome of your Custom Curly Haircut, and your hair needs roughly two weeks to self detox.
You can also perform an in-home detox 3-4 times in the two weeks before your visit to remove the buildup that is likely on your hair and masking your curl’s spring factor. We recommend Malibu Un-Do-Goo or Deva Build-Up Buster as clarifiers. We sell them in the salon or you can call to order if you would like.
Your curly haircut day is here!
Please arrive at the salon with dry, detangled and recently cleansed hair, styled as “curly and defined” as possible to the best of your ability. Pretend you’re going out that night! If your curls are best on day two or three, then you may arrive with multiple day hair.
Wear your hair down. It must be free of any dents, clips, hair ties, headbands, etc. as we need to see your curls in their natural state.
Please DO NOT come with your hair in a twist-out style, whether twisted or expanded. Again, your hair in its natural state will tell us everything we need to know and help us educate you to your curls’ utmost potential.
Detangling ahead of your visit is a must, otherwise additional fees may apply or you may be asked to reschedule your appointment due to time constraints.
